Software Requirements

This site includes some resources that require particular pieces of software. They have been chosen because they are present on almost all computers and many are included within standard browsers. The list of software below might help if you are having some trouble opening some files. Inclusion of the software here does not imply that the software is recommended or endorsed by the Equality and Diversity Toolkit authors.

 

Recommended browsers for this site are Firefox or Safari. Both are available for Windows and Macintosh platforms and are free.

 

You will need Quicktime installed on your computer to view any video clips. You can get this at www.apple.com/quicktime/download. It is free.

 

Many sites use Flash for some activities and you may need to have the latest Flash plugin installed on your machine. You can get this at www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer. It is free.

 

Many documents are available in Adobe’s Portable Document Format (usually abbreviated as pdf). Again, you may need a plug-in for your browser to read these. The reader and other useful software is available at http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions . The reader is free.
